What happens after you launch a great website?
For Inspire Lancaster, you keep building.
Inspire Lancaster was created to help connect Lancaster County students, educators, and employers through career exploration and workforce-based learning opportunities. But as the platform has grown, so have the needs of the people using it.
That’s led to an ongoing partnership between Inspire Lancaster and QNTM focused not simply on maintaining the website, but continually asking how technology can make those connections even stronger.
And this fall, Inspire Lancaster will be showcasing some of that innovation at Workforce Summit 2030 on October 15.
More Than a Website
Inspire Lancaster isn’t a traditional marketing website.
It’s a working digital platform serving several distinct audiences.
Students are exploring careers and looking for real-world opportunities. Businesses want to connect with future talent. Educators and school districts need resources that support students. And administrators need tools that allow them to manage all of those interactions behind the scenes.
As participation grows, that creates an interesting challenge:
How do you continue expanding what a platform can do without making it harder to use?
That’s been at the center of much of our recent work together.
Creating a More Personalized Experience for Students
One of the biggest areas of innovation has been the student experience.
Instead of presenting every student with the same information, we’ve worked to create a more curated dashboard experience that helps students focus on what’s relevant to them.
Students can more easily:
- Search and discover local organizations
- Keep track of opportunities they’ve applied for
- See messaging specific to their school district
- Focus on opportunities available to them
- Explore potential employers connected to their career interests
It’s a shift from simply giving students access to information to helping them navigate that information with more purpose.
Connecting Students With Lancaster County Employers

Career exploration becomes much more meaningful when students can see the opportunities that exist in their own community.
Expanded organizational search functionality allows students to discover Lancaster County employers, explore detailed organizational profiles, and begin connecting their interests with potential career paths.
For participating organizations, the platform creates an opportunity to introduce their company, industry, and career possibilities to the region’s future workforce.
That’s where technology starts supporting something much bigger than the website itself.
It’s helping create connections.
Making It Easier for Businesses to Get Involved
Of course, creating those connections requires participation from employers, too.
Not every organization has experience creating workforce-based learning opportunities, so another area of focus has been reducing that barrier.
We’ve worked with Inspire Lancaster to develop guided resources that help businesses better understand the process, explore different types of opportunities, and take the next step toward creating one.
The platform has also expanded its event capabilities, allowing businesses to submit events while giving Inspire Lancaster administrators the appropriate review and approval tools behind the scenes.
The goal throughout is simple:
Make participation easier.
Creating a Platform That Communicates
Some of the most useful functionality happens when a user isn’t even on the website.
Automated notifications have been introduced throughout the platform to keep students and organizations informed and engaged.
These communications can support things like:
- Organization updates
- Application confirmations
- Follow-up information
- Opportunity activity
- Reminders when an organization hasn’t recently shared an opportunity
These small touchpoints can make a big difference, helping users stay connected while reducing the amount of manual communication required from the Inspire Lancaster team.
Turning Activity Into Useful Information
As the platform grows, so does the amount of valuable information moving through it.
Reporting enhancements give authorized organizations and administrators greater visibility into applicant information, along with the ability to export data when needed.
This helps employers better manage student interest while giving Inspire Lancaster tools that support the continued growth of the program.
But throughout that development, there’s an important balance we’re always considering:
How do we make the platform more powerful without making it more complicated?
Sometimes Innovation Means Simplifying
Innovation doesn’t always mean adding another feature.
Sometimes it means taking a closer look at what already exists and asking whether there’s a better way.
Our ongoing UI/UX work with Inspire Lancaster has included:
- Simplifying opportunity types
- Improving navigation and user pathways
- Refining registration experiences
- Creating clearer support options
- Highlighting success stories
- Supporting co-branded opportunities
- Giving organizations greater control over which school districts can view specific opportunities
Individually, some of these changes may feel small.
Together, they create a platform that’s easier to navigate, easier to manage, and better aligned with how students, educators, and employers actually use it.
And that’s an important part of innovation that doesn’t always get talked about.
Sometimes the best technology makes things feel simpler, not more technical.
Innovation Starts With Listening
One of the things we’ve enjoyed most about our partnership with Inspire Lancaster is that the platform continues to evolve alongside the community it serves.
We’re continually asking questions together.
Where are users experiencing friction?
What are students looking for?
What do employers need?
What could make participation easier?
What information would help educators?
What could the platform handle that currently requires manual work?
Those conversations become ideas.
Ideas become strategy.
And strategy eventually becomes new experiences and functionality for the people using the platform.
We won’t give away all of the QNTM secret sauce behind how that happens. 😉
But the philosophy behind it is pretty simple:
Technology should solve real problems for real people.
What’s Next for Inspire Lancaster
On October 15, Inspire Lancaster will have the opportunity to showcase this evolving work at Workforce Summit 2030, sharing how the platform is helping bring students, educators, and employers together through technology.
We’re excited to see the work we’ve built together represented as part of a much larger conversation about the future of Lancaster County’s workforce.
And we’re even more excited about what comes next.
Because some of the best digital partnerships don’t end when a website launches.
That’s when the next round of ideas begins.
